Leadership & Management

  • Module 01 - Situational Leadership

    There is no best leadership style. Rather managers need to adapt their approach to the performance readiness of the individual or group they are leading.

    Outcomes:

    1. Understand the factors impacting your leadership
    2. Recognise the development levels of your staff
    3. Identify your natural leadership style
    4. Know when to direct, coach, support, and delegate
    5. Adapting your leadership style to the person and their situation
    6. Analysing and planning for your team
  • Module 02 - Delegation without Dumping

    Leaders realise that they cannot do everything themselves. They realise the by effective delegation, not only does work get done more efficiently, but it also develops and motivates staff.

    Outcomes:

    1. Understand the differences between delegation and task assignment
    2. Recognise what to delegate
    3. Learn how to let go and trust staff
    4. Utilise the 12 steps of delegation
    5. Use delegation as a development and a motivational tool
    6. Realise the importance of follow up
  • Module 03 - Feedback and Performance Management

    Many managers avoid feedback conversations due to the confrontation. However, if staff don’t hear there is a problem, they assume everything is fine. Setting performance expectations, giving feedback, and driving accountability is critical for a performance culture.

    Outcomes:

    1. Identify when a performance problem is developing
    2. Plan for a performance conversation
    3. Utilise skills to give objective behavioural feedback
    4. To receive feedback without taking it personally
    5. Have a process for follow up and to drive accountability
    6. Realise the importance of praise and positive feedback
  • Module 04 - Motivating Self and Others

    Your staff are currently motivated. Just not to do what you want them to do. Good leaders know how to motivate themselves and tap into intrinsic motivators for their staff, to ensure that everyone remains committed and driven to go the extra mile.

    Coaching is a strategic level for individual and organisational success. It facilitates productive change, deals with problems, and uncovers potential.

    1. Understand the core elements of business coaching
    2. Have effective coaching conversations
    3. Recognise moments for informal coaching
    4. Know how to address barriers and self-limiting beliefs
    5. Utilise a process for formal ongoing coaching
    6. Develop skills to manage resistance and emotions
  • Module 06 - Behavioural Interviewing

    Selecting the right people are crucial to the success of any business but finding the right skills and cultural fit can be a challenge for any manager. Behavioural interviewing training can help with preparing, running the interview, asking the right questions, making the best selection, and following up appropriately.

    1. Use the 5 steps for a structured interview
    2. Understanding unconscious bias and selection based on merit
    3. Effectively plan and prepare for the job interview
    4. To utilise effective question techniques to uncover the required information
    5. Recognise the importance of selling the job and the organisation

    2. Realise the importance of modelling your values in your behaviour
    3. Understanding how to inspire a shared vision and enlist others
    4. Have a process to identify opportunities and take risks
